Leslie Marie is having breakfast with Jesus this morning…

Those of you who read my May posts know her story.  The crazy, miraculous story of a beautiful soul who heard Jesus calling her name just weeks before He would call her home.  So many of you prayed and joined in on the excitement of watching Jesus awaken her heart to His love.

On Sunday morning, she got to see, for the very first time, the face of the One who has loved her all her life.  The One she was just getting to know and now knows in ways we can’t even begin to understand.  Such a breathtaking thought.

Though death wasn’t a surprise, it happened sooner than anyone expected.

And all I’ve been thinking about since Sunday is, we never know.

We never know when our time will be up.

We never know when someone else’s time will be up.

We never know whom God will bring across our path.

We never know when He will whisper in our ear, tap on our shoulder or shout in our face, “Does she/he know Me?”

We never know how an encounter, a conversation or a listening ear could change the course of our lives or another’s.

We never know when THIS might be the NOW that God is asking us to  be bold, to show love, to share His story.

I pray that I’ll have listening ears, perked to respond to the familiar voice of my Savior.  I want to get to the point where the reaction is so automatic that I don’t have time to think, doubt or make excuses.  That I just say, like Samuel (who finally realized it was God’s voice he was hearing), “Speak Lord, for Your servant is listening,” and then follow it up with action.

I pray that I’ll have eyes wide open, wide awake to see the opportunities, the possibilities that God puts in front of me. Not distracted by ease or personal preference. Eyes that fill with tears of grace and love and sparkle with the “joy of His salvation” (Psalm 51:12).  Like Simeon, (Luke 2:30-31 -“For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations”) I want to see salvation every time I gaze at Jesus and be compelled to share it.

I want ready feet (Isaiah 52:7 – How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation…) to move when Jesus directs and stay put when His plan is right where I’m standing, sharing His love with people both here and there.

Life is short.  Sometimes too short.  But life with Jesus lasts forever and can start this very minute!  That should be all the motivation I need to share such incredible news with a world who is waiting to hear it…

See you soon, Leslie Marie…:-) xoxoxo
