My life a canvas in front of you, Jesus
Waiting for your inspiration to play all over it
You take your brush and sweep across me
Colors so vibrant and rich
Hues intense and bold
So the picture becomes deeper, more intriguing
You stop and look to see exactly what needs to be done next
Pastels to soften the edges of the bold colors
Your fingers rubbing, blending, smoothing
And the picture becomes sweeter, more inviting
You lean back to decide what is still lacking
Out comes your pencil, sharp and precise
Defining the shapes, outlining the images
And the picture becomes clearer, more compelling
As you look at your artwork, you realize that one thing is missing
You reach for your box of broken crayons
Childlike, simple, primary colors
And you scribble across the canvas
Random marks that seem to mar the picture, but somehow make it more interesting
So others feel like a part of the artwork
Please color me, Jesus
And keep the canvas wet and workable so the picture can be modified and improved until it resembles a portrait of You.
I’m impressed, I must say. Actually rarely do I encounter a weblog that’s each educative and entertaining, and let me inform you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your concept is outstanding; the difficulty is one thing that not sufficient persons are talking intelligently about. I am very glad that I stumbled throughout this in my search for something regarding this.
