The Lord’s Prayer. Most of us know it by heart and it easily becomes rote. So this morning I let my heart and mind write it out in words that reflect my personal voice to my very personal God. I prayed it for you, too. 🙂
Good morning Holy Father, loving Daddy that lives both in the glory of heaven and the simplicity of my heart!
Have your way in me, my family, my neighborhood, my world and help them reflect a glimpse of eternity.
I know that you’ll abundantly supply for my needs and the needs of those I love as each day unfolds. 24 hours at a time.
Help me to show the mercy and grace of forgiveness to those in my life who need it in the same way You’ve mercifully and graciously forgiven this heart of mine that so desperately needed it.
Keep my mind on the things that occupy Your thoughts, God, so that I’m not swept away by temptation, fear or doubt. Fend off the attempts of Satan to distract and destroy.
And as You do these things, Holy Father, Loving Daddy, may You be the One who is honored and recognized and adored in all of it. Because You, and only You, are the One who deserves all the credit and glory.
Thank you. I so love you.
Matthew 6:9-13
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom,
the power and the glory are yours.
Now and for ever.
Amen.
