We’re here!  Got into California late afternoon on Friday.  We are staying at the apartment where Mark has been staying the last couple of months, going back and forth to the house to buy groceries and do a final “clean sweep” before the movers come with the truck tomorrow.

We’ve already met two of the neighbors.  They were both friendly and welcoming and I’m excited for what this close knit neighborhood holds.  We plan on having lots of get togethers and using our new outdoor living area to get to know  more neighbors and our community in general.

Yesterday (while Mark and Blake went to a Pink/Fun concert at AT&T Park hosted by Genentech), I decided to venture out to find the nearest Target for groceries, cleaning supplies and other odds and ends.  I was in unfamiliar territory on unfamiliar roads and was probably driving people nuts with my slow driving.  I turned onto the street where Siri told me Target would be located.  My eyes scoured my surroundings for that familiar red dot and circle. My goal.  My Target.  And then, there in the distance I saw it.  A beacon of hope that I would find what I needed and so much more.  And once again, Target did not disappoint.

As I caught my first glimpse of that big red dot, it occurred to me that it symbolized so much more to me than just shopping.  It was an analogy for my life.  When things are crazy and unknown (as has been the case the past few months) I need to keep my eyes on the Target.  On the fact that God IS who He says that He is.  That He has a plan to meet my needs and so much more.  His face should be my daily beacon of hope, knowing that His intentions for me are far above and beyond anything I can imagine.

When my heart scours for the things of His heart, He will never disappoint.

P.S. – This is the coolest Target I’ve ever seen!!!! 🙂

P.S.S. – Yes, I will post pics of the house when everything gets put into place…I can hardly wait for the truck to get here tomorrow so I can put on my decorator hat once again!
