Seems I get glimpses
Of things up above
Moments of insight
Snapshots of love.
And I want more
It’s what I long for –
A little piece of heaven.
A taste of the sweetness
Of joy undefined
Hints of the meaning
Of “glory divine”
And I want more
It’s what I long for –
A little piece of heaven.
I’ve witnessed the magic
That fellowship brings
Experienced wonders
That make my heart sing.
And I want more
It’s what I long for –
A little piece of heaven.
But we live in a world
With limits in place
A view through opaqueness
Leaving only a trace
Of what waits to greet us
Beyond heaven’s clouds
Life everlasting
Lived fully out loud!
More love than we know
Joy beyond bounds
Music and laughter
Are heaven’s sweet sounds.
Seems I get glimpses
Of these things up above
And more of these things
Is what I dream of.
And until I walk through
Eternity’s doors
I will want more
And I will long for –
A little piece of heaven.
But for now
Please, somehow,
Give me a little PEACE of heaven….
2 Corinthians 5:2 – Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling…
Romans 8:23 – And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.
