More than one thing brought a smile to my face today.
I smiled when I realized that my Grandma spent her first day today in a world full of firsts…
Her first face to face and physical encounter with The King, The Prince, AND The Spirit.
Her first taste of the luscious fruit plucked from the Tree of Life.
Her first walk on Streets of Gold, hand-in-hand with her friend, Jesus.
Her first family reunion with all her loved ones that had gone before her.
Her first experience of a timeless existence, where spirit, mind and body intermingle with each other effortlessly in reflection of The Trinity.
Her first glimpse that must have turned to a mouth-dropping-open stare when she saw the colors and beings and realities that she had never before imagined.
Her first deep breath of life untainted, unpolluted, unspoiled by imperfection.
And somehow, for all eternity, every moment will be a first for her…
I also realized today that my Mitchell, who preceded her to heaven by 16 years, was my only child to has now had the privilege of meeting all of his great-grandparents. Lucky you, Mitch.
Grandma, I hope they sang the Elvis version of Amazing Grace for you when you got there and I hope you danced your heart out!
Oh, Grandma….what a day you’ve had….:-)
<3 that was beautiful. Sorry for your loss. Hard for us, so full of wonderful for them.
I envy her in so, so many ways…So thrilled for her entry into heaven. Just ache from the hole she leaves behind 🙂 Thanks, Jennie! xoxo
So sorry to hear of the loss of your grandma, Jana! I know she is where she wants to be, but it is SO hard to lose someone so beloved to us. My grandma was 96 when she died, my last remaining grandparent. It makes Heaven all the more dear to my heart and exciting to look forward to. Thanks for sharing your heart with us. <3
Thank you, Marilou. With so many of my roots now there, I sometimes feel as if a part of my heart has taken up residence in heaven already 🙂 Thanks for the love 🙂
