On the day before Christmas, Jesus spent His last hours before entering this world in the protection of a a warm and safe womb.  Soon, He would go through a grueling birth experience and enter the cold air of the world He was born to save.

On the day before Christmas, Mary enjoyed her last day carrying the physical presence of deity inside her.  Soon, she would go through a grueling birth experience and then have to share her Son with the world He was born to save.

On the day before Christmas, Joseph looked after his very pregnant wife and cared for her needs.  Soon, he would watch her go through a grueling birth experience and for the first time meet his foster son, the Son of God that was greeting the world He was born to save.

On the day before Christmas

Shepherds were watching sheep, but were soon to see angels.

Magi were were watching stars, but were soon to see glory.

Christmas changed everything.  God Himself burst through the doors of our reality yet came to us in the most vulnerable of ways. From heaven to womb to world.  Born with a mission to save.

On this day before Christmas, may I consider all that heaven endured and gave up by sending Jesus to my world. May I remember all that was given so that I could receive.  May every wrapped present under the tree remind of the greatest gift ever given.  Eternal life sent special delivery in the package of a sweet baby.

On this day before Christmas, may I smile in gratitude. May I love in thankfulness. And may I be overcome with awe in the beauty of what was done for me.

Luke 2:11 – Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord...

Matthew 1:21 – She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

Luke 19:10 – For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.
