(I woke up this morning overcome and OVERWHELMED by all that God is and the consuming love with which He loves us…I didn’t know where to start or stop with this one…I could have gone on all day…)
So overcome with all that You are
My midnight oil, my morning star
Beginning, end and all in between
Creator of worlds that we’ve not yet seen
Author of wisdom beyond what we grasp
Answer to all burning questions we ask
Artist of beauty transforming this beast
Five loaves and two fish turn into a feast
Lover so passionate You gave up Your life
To take in this wanderer and make her Your wife.
The Warrior who fights, The Physician who heals
The Shepherd who leads, the High Priest who feels.
You are the Potter, I am the clay
Your hands that sculpt and mold into shape.
Friend of this sinner yet God of this earth
Eternal Father reduced to home birth.
Reigning as King in heaven above
Yet You live in this heart overwhelmed by Your love.
Glory is Yours yet the honor is mine
To gaze at Your face, so real, yet Divine.
Words can’t describe, no language convey
The All that is You. What can I say?
Let my awe be the sound, let my tears be the song
That this overwhelmed heart speaks and sings all day long.
You are more than I see, than I hear, than I feel
All consuming, all loving, all good and all real…

Psalm 84:11 – For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
Psalm 116:5 – The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.
Jana, I(!) am overwhelmed with your love for Him and your ability to express it so beautifully. If only…………………
Currently, I am reading He Loves Me! by Wayne Jacobsen and he has “nailed” God’s love for us, as well as our “He loves me, He loves me not”, living less than and towing the favor line mentality. EXCELLENT.
I need to check that out! I wish I knew who you were so I could talk with you about it! Thanks, too, for your encouragement. Sometimes I am frustrated when my words can’t come close to conveying Who He is and how I feel…My prayer is that I’ll come close enough for others to see a glimpse of it…
