Sometimes glory shines best through broken glass.
Shards that reflect a Light that is not their own.
Various shattered works of art that the Master combines and designs to make a most beautiful mosaic.
My pieces. Your pieces. Their pieces. Once in a heap of brokenness. Now in the hands of an Artist.
His hands cut on us, for us, to make us into something that is lovely and useful.
Breathtaking, as His light shines through it.
He is not afraid. His strong and tender hands have been hurt for us before.
He became broken just like us. Those same hands nailed to a cross. For us.
Why would I choose to hold on to my own brokenness?
Why would I choose to bleed out when I have been bled for?
Why would I not trade my ugly pieces for a reflective, beautiful masterpiece?
Why would I not join others who are broken to be created into something that shines, that draws people to the LIght?
And so, Jesus, here is my shatteredness.
From my hands to yours.
I couldn’t make anything out of them.
But You can.
And I trust that You will.
Philippians 1:6 – And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Psalm 51:17 – My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.
Psalm 34:18 – The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
2 Corinthians 4:7 – We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.
