We are in Hawaii!!!

I am sitting on the lanai of the condo looking out at a glorious, seemingly endless ocean.  Waves are crashing against jagged black lava rocks.  The horizon appears to stretch on forever.  The sound of the water a white noise backdrop to everything I may or may not do today.  THIS is relaxation.

With the roar of the sea rocking me to sleep last night, I enjoyed the best sleep that I’ve had in a very long time.  Woke up to great friends and a fresh pot of coffee and an equally relaxed hubby.  No agenda.  No schedule.  No right or wrong way to spend this day.  Complete freedom without false guilt to do as much or as little as I like.  Yep.  I’m relaxed.

The ocean has always seemed to have this effect on me.  Every time I’ve gone from being landlocked in either Arizona or Colorado, there is an aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh factor that almost overwhelms me.  As if a warm and tangible form of peace just pours over me and covers me from head to toe. I breathe and move differently.  Slower, more deeply.  As if time has evaporated and all obligations have vanished.  Not forever, but for now.

Thank you, Jesus, for much needed rest.  For love and friendship and laughter.  Thank you for creating this huge expanse of water for all mankind to enjoy, but for today, most definitely for me.

Genesis 1:10 – God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.

Psalm 93:4 – Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea – the Lord on high is mighty.

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
