My daughter Brittany and her husband (and my precious son-in-law!) Brendan just got news yesterday that he got the job he was hoping for in California! They are ecstatic. They’ve been waiting for this opportunity to leave Arizona and venture out to the LA area where Brendan can have more opportunities to use his amazing skills in improvisation, acting and comedy. They have been so patient and diligent in paying off ALL of their student loans within the past two years and they are READY! We couldn’t be more thrilled for them as they face their first big adventure as a married couple.
So here’s my prayer for you guys…
That your ears would continue to be attentive to God’s “still, small voice”. You have heard His silence and waited. Now His direction is clear and you are ready. May you go with confidence that He is with you each step of the way – from finding a good place to live to Brittany finding a teaching job where kids are waiting for your compassionate and dedicated heart. I pray that God will bring you friends that can do life with you – to share the tears, laughter and everything in between. People with whom you can create a history. People that will pour into your lives and challenge you and that will allow you to do the same to them.
That your eyes wouldn’t miss the little miracles along the way of God’s provision in the strangest forms. May you never stop being amazed at how he cherishes and cheers for you as a couple as well as individuals. There is a place of fellowship and worship waiting for your hearts, your talents and your eager hands to help.
That your feet would be ready to plant wherever God takes you. When you declare this new place your “home” may it be a safe haven to others where they can be heard and loved. I pray that it will be a place where sweet memories are made and dreams are formed. YOUR sanctuary and retreat as a couple.
That your hands would always be open to the people who come across your new path or into your new home and ready to offer a hug or a handshake. Ready to help and excited to give.
God has answered all these prayers during your time in Arizona. It is not a new prayer. Just a new place with new opportunities for God to use one incredible couple to share His love with a whole new corner of the world. I am so very proud of you guys and so happy for this new chapter in your lives. This mama is blessed to call you both her kids. I love you both to the moon and back….xoxoxo
Romans 15:13 – May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Jana, you wrote a truly fitting prayer for your daughter and son-in-law. Tho you intended it for them, many of us need to request help in these areas as we switch out of our comfort zone and into new territory, especially L.A.! It is the land of distracting enticements. How I wish I’d known the Lord while growing up there. I am grateful that your family go there with Him, and only by HIS leading.
