(Titus 3:4-7 – “…when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us ….through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.”)
The beautiful broken are we
Shattered to pieces, we fall to our knees
Life’s rugged edges that cut ’til we bleed
Oh how long must we be
Only the beautiful broken….
The beautiful broken are we
In need of an Artist to look and to see
Far past the ugliness of our desperate need
And understand what we can be
Beyond the beautiful broken
Shards of glass, useless, destined to doom
Until the Artist entered the room
And with his own hands lifted pieces of glass
Cutting himself with our jagged past
And the blood that dripped down on the pieces that day
Transformed them to stained glass, a brilliant display
And suddenly light poured through His masterpiece
Created from rubble, perfected by grace
Now the beautiful broken
Are put back together again….
The beautiful broken are we
Transformed by the One who hung on a tree
Who took on our brokenness to set us free
Trading our pieces for His perfect peace
He was beautifully broken
And we are whole….
