Today Blake and four other kids and me and two other moms when to visit DU – University of Denver. I know. The letters are turned around. I don’t know why. And it doesn’t really matter. It costs $50,000 per year to go there. Not gonna happen.
But we had a fun time just getting the tour, hearing some profs speak and getting a free lunch out of the deal. It was good for the kids to be on a college campus and get the feel of dorms, the activities, the clubs available and what it will be like to be part of something bigger than yourself. The opportunity for new relationships, new learning, new independence. It’s exciting! And I had to swallow the lump in my throat as I thought about it as reality today. I am so gonna miss this kid. Seriously. I have no idea how I’m going to do it…My last one. My baby. My only son here on earth. Ugh….
Here is a pic of the kids that went today – Jordan, Blake, Steele, Danielle and Kylie. The greatest part of the day for me was watching and listening to them interact, not only with each other, but with us as parents. Great kids. Great moms. Great fun. 🙂
Oh, and did you notice? The leaves just started falling off the trees! My first real fall in eight years!!! Whoopee!!!! My favorite time of year since I was a little girl. And here in Colorado, it’s finally here. Cold weather and all!
Hi, gal. Life seems to be treating you well and continues to race by…can’t believe that your youngest is getting ready for college. Way to go!! This is a beautiful day with a bit of sunshine and a bit of rain…not enough to spoil our walk this a.m. I am walking a mile or a little more each day..can you believe it? We will be singing “Surely Goodnes and Mercy” tomorrow before breakfast…what a pair of old yolders (sp)!! Love you. Grandma
God is so good. He keeps providing people’s homes for me to work on which is just way too much fun! And now I’ll even start getting paid for it! 🙂
So proud of you and your exercise routine. I hope I’m half as ambitious as you when I reach your age!!! Hey, question…what were your symptoms with your kidneys before you passed stones? Did your blood pressure spike? I’m having issues and am going in for a renal ultrasound on Monday….
Love you, grandma!!!
me
I LOVE KYLEE!!! She’s AWESOME!!!!! Just thought I’d say that.
Is this my sweet Becky????
Yup! It’s me. Just stalking your blog. 😉
Are you asking about my lst episode? Too long ago to remember. Mostly I have pain (and I now know exactly where my kidney is) that is different. I usually don’t run a temp but do sometimes….blood pressure has only been an issue since my hip surgeries. Now you say you want to be just like me when you “grow up”….please oh please oh please skip this particular personality quirk. It has never been pleasant but my Jesus has held me close for 60 plus years and I know that He is still in control, and am I glad!!! Love you. Grandma
