A couple of weeks ago, I posted a video of men coming home from Iraq and the reactions of their children and loved ones. (If you want to look up the post, it’s called “I Found It!”)
In the video, there is a little, probably two year old, girl who sees her daddy. In her little tiny voice, she says, “Daddy? I missed you, Daddy! I love you!” Her voice is sweet and sounds as if, at her young age, she is overcome by emotion. You can’t help but cry when you see it. It is so heartfelt and tender. The precious picture of a little girl’s deep love for her daddy.
I found myself repeating that phrase today to my heavenly Father. “I missed You, Daddy!” I said as I started my quiet time today. The past few days have been crazy with busyness and I hadn’t taken the time to just have “our” time together. That time of intimate connection and recognition of who my Daddy is and all that He is continually doing in and around me. So I crawled up in His lap and we read His Word together. He showed me things and just let me be quiet with Him. In the quiet, I could once again hear His heartbeat that spoke of His love for His “little girl”. And all was right with the world again. Safe in the arms of my Daddy. Close enough to hear His heartbeat, His voice, His love. Empowered to go out and live the day that He set before me to help others see and experience the love of their Daddy.
I love You, Daddy….
Galatians 4:6 (The Message) –You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as his own children because God sent the Spirit of this Son into our lives crying out, “Papa! Father!” (Daddy :-))
and yet another way we are the same…i miss you…
Love you, girl and miss you, too!
