School starts later on Thursdays.  So last night Blake came and asked me if we could go to breakfast with two of his girl friends and their moms.  Of course I said yes, but when I woke up this morning, I resembled a sharpei puppy.  After all the crying yesterday, my eyes were swollen beyond recognition.  I applied ice packs and decided that wearing my glasses was the only choice I had today…:-)

We met at Village Inn.  And can I just say, “Thank you, Jesus”.   These women were real and welcoming and warm and the hour that we were there felt like cool water pouring over a thirsty soul.  After we left, one of the gals sent me a text that said, “….I feel like we’ve been friends for a long time.”  Which set me to crying again, of course.  But this time thankful, joyful tears.

Isn’t it incredible that Jesus knows what we need when we need it most and offers the answer in such sweet unexpected ways?  Today is Mitchell’s birthday.  Yesterday was a very hard day.  I was emotionally spent.  Jesus knew that I needed a soul hug.  And He gave me a huge one this morning through two people who yesterday were strangers to me and today are now friends.  I love how Jesus works outside the box of predictability.

Well, today begins a new tradition.  We are all going to meet every Thursday for breakfast now.  Hey, I just realized something…Jesus gave me a present on Mitchell’s birthday.   Maybe it was from both of them… 🙂

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
