At the risk of sounding like a broken record (does that phrase even mean anything any more?) I just have to brag on Jesus again today.  The day started early with the kids needing to be at church at 7:45 to help with VBS.  Halfway through the morning, Abby had to leave to begin her first day of training at our local drive thru Starbucks.  She was a bit nervous, but gave me a big smile and two big thumbs up as she headed in.  That smile was only surpassed by the grin on her face when she came out four hours later.  She told me it was “such a great day!”  She loved the pace of the non-stop drive through.  And she loved the people.  She got to work with a gal her age who is also a believer.  Abby was thrilled.  For her, it  was a good, good day.

When I picked Blake up fhe had been invited to go to the local pool by a group of high school kids that had helped with VBS.  A few hours later, he called me to pick him up.  There he stood with a grin on his face, sunshine on his nose and three girls from the youth group (all, incidentally, very cute and friendly!)  After coming home, he received an invitation from said girls to a bonfire at one of the parents’ home.  For him, it was a good, good day.

To me it is so obvious, but I made sure to mention it to both of them so that they don’t miss it…God is clearly blessing their attitude and willingness to jump in, be open, and help and serve others before even knowing them.  This was their choice, not their mom’s.   They chose to reach out, touch lives and impact their new world.  And it seems that Jesus is clearly telling them, “Thank you!!!!”

God, how do you continue to be so very good?  How do you know each of us so intimately that you provide for the deepest needs of our hearts and lives?  It is so very evident that you delight in giving these undeserved gifts to us – more than we could ask or even imagine.  Thank you is not nearly enough.  Help us live  out our gratitude every second of every minute of every hour of every day.  🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
