Dear Friend,

Come sit by me.  With me.  For just a moment.

I know you’re busy.  You have so much on your mind and plate.  Demands and obligations.  Worries and frustrations.

But for this second, just take a deep breath and soak in this phrase that you need to be reminded of today.

I love you.

I know that you know this.  I say it endlessly.  It’s just that sometimes you really don’t hear it.  You forget.  You’re distracted.

So, I’m going to say it again.

I love you.

Love. That simple word is said so often in this world that it’s nearly white noise to your ears. But listen carefully and you will hear the difference when I say it to you.

I love you.

Full of promise and rich with hope.  Every emphasized syllable reminding you that you are not alone.  That I will never leave you.  That I have beautiful, wonderful plans for you.  That you are mine and I am yours.

The lingering ring of that phrase in your ear will change you inside to out if you’ll let it.  Panic melts into peace.  Despair is replaced with truth.  Disappointment recognizes purpose and slowly fades away.

I love you.

Your day is filled with must-do’s.

But please, please, please let this be at the top of that list.

Listen for the phrase I whisper to you before you tackle that project, deal with that child, or work on that marriage. Before that dreaded phone call or ugly chore. Before one unreasonable person crosses your path or one “impossible” dream floods your mind.

I love you.

I am with you and will join you in every circumstance and relationship.   Let the knowledge of my love be your driving force and unleash you to do things you thought could not be done..

Let my love give your weary bones wings and your discouraged soul windows of light.

Let it open your eyes to new possibilities and every day miracles.

I love you.

Thank you for sitting with me, friend.  As you go about your day I will keep saying it, over and over.

Keep listening for it.  It’s tucked between the lines of every list you’ve made and nestled in the corner of every appointment you keep.

Go into this day knowing it.  Believing it.

It will change everything….
