Though I couldn’t take pictures of what and who I saw yesterday, we were allowed to take pictures of some of the things that were painted on the walls of the brothel turned haven of safety. This mural so depicts what Jesus is doing in the lives of others in this place…
Paintings on the walls of where rescued and local children come to sing, dance, play, pray and learn in the safety of a loving place that once symbolized fear and pain.
The photo above is one shot of the hundreds of templates for the shirts made, by-hand silk-screening, one of the new skills learned and a viable source of income. They are also doing custom shirts by bulk for organizations, churches, youth groups, teams around the world. Very high quality mix of cotton and spandex and extremely soft. (Keep in mind if your company wants to purchase custom shirts whose proceeds go to a more than excellent cause.)
These are a small samples of the bracelets these girls make and sell, another glimpse at the hope they now have for a better life.
Both the shirts and the jewelry are examples of some of the things that will inventory Janay’s new retail store here.
I got a discount on this bracelet, because of Jesus’ misspelling. But I fell in love with it. A cute DOUBLE reminder that Jesus came for US. US here and US there. US everywhere…
I know that it’s frustrating not to see the beautiful faces of those being rescued. But know that they are smiling, their faces shining, their eyes sparkling with loveliness only Jesus can create. Your prayers are so welcome and appreciated. Your encouragement, invaluable.
Thank you, thank you, thank you….
Matthew 19:14 – Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Just so you know, I have been incredibly moved to deeper intercession for this work in Cambodia as a result of your posts. Your word pictures and heart-writing are a God-given gift. Write on!!!
Thank you, Jesus! Thank you, Sandi! My prayer is that we’re all moved in a deeper way, our hearts beginning to beat a little more in rhythm with our Savior’s… xoxoxo
