The sun is not yet risen
The day not yet begun
No hint yet of what’s ahead
Or what I will get done.
But promise lives within this day
The hope of things unseen
Endless possibilities
The birth of newfound dreams.
Who’s to say that this new day
Won’t be the one that changes
My mind, my heart, my body, soul
The one that rearranges.
My thoughts can change, as can my mind
This old dog can learn new tricks
New roads beckon, new paths call
A place to run and fetch new sticks.
The sun, I see it rising now
On a canvas of blue sky
Wide and open, clear and new
Where potential meets with “try”.
None of us knows for sure
What this new day holds
But we know Who holds this brand new day
So we can face it, BOLD!
A brand new chance to start again
To grow or change, explore
To venture out to things unknown
Sensing there is more.
Let’s take this day and live it well
And see what magic lies
In the miracle of “what could be”
And brand new, eager “tries”.
Psalm 118:24 – This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Lam. 3:22-23 – … his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning…
Isaiah 43:19 – See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
