How thankful I am this new morning that You came for the broken, the sinner, the sick, the dirty, the lost.

I will lift thankful hands this moment that You come to the closets, the hovels, the pits and the asylums we create just to find us and bring us home.

My knees are bent with gratitude that You run to the prodigal, heal the blind, bind up the wounded and gather the orphans.

My tear stained cheeks will smile with the knowledge that Your new life begins at my sudden death to self.

Jesus, take me into this new day, with new eyes to see new things about Your grace, mercy and love.  Because, they truly are “new every morning”.  Take everything I’m not and wrap it tightly with everything You are so that I become so lost in Your identity that people can’t see my face for Yours.  My  bumps and bruises and tear stains erased by Your radiance.

Lamentations 3:22-23 – Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

1 Timothy 1:15 – Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners–of whom I am the worst.

Mark 2:17 – When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor–sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
