There are approximately 17 million other things that I should be doing right now – finishing up my talk for tomorrow, packing, putting back in place all the decorations that left my house for the Christmas Dinner last night – to name a few.
But I just have to stop and take a few minutes to reflect on the awesomeness of last night’s event. A Christmas Dinner for 300 women.
AMAZING!!!!
Thirty tables set for 10 each decorated individually by thirty different women. The personalities were so absolutely reflected in the beautiful centerpieces and all their trimmings.
Here’s just a sampling….
But, of course, the most beautiful part of the evening was the women…I only wish I would have gotten more individual pictures of each lovely…:-)
Aren’t they lovely???? (My friends Kari, Laurie and Lori pictured above and Pamela in the prior pic – wish I’d gotten pictures of all of my amazing friends!) Such a sweet environment of love and joy and all things Christmas! Precious conversations, beautiful music, a wonderful message shared by my friend Debbie pictured below…
And speaking of sweet, the evening also included some of the best desserts I have ever seen or tasted made by women who know how to make delicious beautiful!
But, I think the most impactful part of the evening for me personally was how many people (men AND women!) stayed very late to help me reload all my stuff into a U-Haul that my new friend, Kurt, so generously rented to help me bring all the decorations for the event. There was no hesitation or second thought – they just came over and helped me pack up everything. No easy task. But they did it with grace and laughter and genuine hearts of gratitude. The question was never “can I help?” but “HOW can I help?” It moved me greatly to have such willing sacrifice on my behalf. Very humbling. I LOVE MY CHURCH FAMILY!!!! There are too many to name, and I don’t want to forget anyone, but you know who you are and I hope that you know how much your authentically giving hearts mean to me.
And now, duty calls…anyone want to help a girl with a ride to the airport tomorrow? 🙂
