There’s a verse that talks about “entertaining angels without knowing it”. (Hebrews 13:2)
I think I experienced that last night.
Last night a group of women came to hear Janay give her presentation about what she will be doing in Cambodia. Among this group were women I’d never met in my life. Women that my friend, Lori, invited. But EVERY woman in my home last night was a stranger to Janay. But not for long..:-)
Every person present had given up a Friday night. Each came to hear someone they’d never heard of or laid eyes on before. And in return, each was greeted with a hug and a “thank you”.
Janay did an amazing job of sharing both her heart and ministry in a very conversational, interactive way. Excellent questions were asked and answered. The women were fully engaged and moved by the stories she told and the video she showed. As she shared HER heart, it was soon obvious what THEIR hearts were like – soft, tender, maternal, caring. They queried not only about the awful plight of these girls that so desperately need to be rescued, but also wondered about Janay’s safety and what measures were in place to protect her.
Their concern, care, empathetic hearts and full emotional support were wonderful. Their promises to pray for her journey were heartfelt and invaluable. But they didn’t stop there. They also enthusiastically wanted to help financially support her. Hours earlier, these women were strangers to Janay. Some were even strangers to me. But now I was beginning to see them as angels. Eager to partner with Janay and what God will be doing in Cambodia.
What an absolute gift each of these women was to us last night. We could not be more thankful.
Amazing….
