(I had a conversation with my friend the other day about glimpses of eternity that God gives us sometimes as a reminder of what we are waiting for, and whom we are living for. Those sweet peeks of heaven remind me of coming out of a very wonderful, vivid dream and the effect that it has on you for the rest of the day. You want to go back to that same dream and live there, at least for a while, but “real life” with its responsibilities and must-do’s won’t allow it. Heaven awaits, and sometimes we are given a taste of its glory. But while we wait, we’ve got to let that vision be our motivation to live out the “now” and “here” we’ve been given and to share our “there” with others.)
There is a sweet place where “here” touches “there”
A place that our dreams and reality share.
Where sleep is no longer and awake is not yet
Where we find ourselves talking to those we’ve not met.
There is a sweet place where “here” touches “there”
A place without worry, no distress and no care.
Where our minds catch of glimpse of what we don’t know
Where our hearts soar above with our feet still below.
There is a sweet place where “here” touches “there”
A place where our sleepy eyes can’t help but stare.
Where our senses are tickled but still long for more
Where we realize that “there” is what we were made for.
Dreams meet reality
In that fairytale place
Just out of our reach
But as close as our face.
We don’t want to leave it
We want to stay “there”
But “here” shouts its need
With its worries and cares.
So we rub sleepy eyes
To start a new day
But the dream of “there” lingers
In what we do, think and say.
There is a sweet place where “here” touches “there”
A place that our dreams and reality share….
Philippians 1:21-24 – For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.
1 Corinthians 13:12 – For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
