I am having my own little (rustic) Industrial Revolution.
It started when I thought we might end up in a loft or condo in San Francisco and I wanted to go with something completely different from my former style of just rustic. My mind turned toward all things industrial.
We ended up finding a sweet little house, not in the big city, but in our own little downtown of Pleasanton. It was built in 1944 and has its very own little quirks and character traits that I love. But I couldn’t just bring strict industrial into this old beauty.
So I ended up combining the two and came up with rustic industrial. Little did I know there really WAS such a thing and other people have caught on, too! It basically takes the metals of industrial things and matches them up with and softens them with softer mediums like wood, fabric, soft edges and lots of texture.
My house has eaten up my ideas and seems to be smiling with their presence. As if this quirky little “cottage” of mine was awaiting the arrival of this quirky little woman and her crazy decor pieces.
This house and me? We’re a match made in heaven. Quite literally…
Here are few of the things she’s let me grace her with…
