Every once it a while it’s nice to realize you aren’t the same person you were a few years ago.

There are the obvious changes of a few more wrinkles and gray hairs.

But I’m talking about the GOOD changes.  The GOD changes.

I had a conversation with a friend yesterday about those kinds of changes.

There is one particular thing in me that God needed to work on in me (one of many!).  It took awhile.  I kept trying to do what I thought was a “good” thing, and failed to listen to what God was whispering in my ear was the “best” thing.

It took a few scrapes and bruises and a battered heart to bring me to my senses.  The conversation with my friend yesterday brought tears.  How could I have been so naive?  So stupid?  How did I miss the brilliant red flag waving right in front of me?

As I said a few posts back, there is no benefit in regretting the past.  But there is EVERY benefit in learning from it.  In having the mistakes of yesterday propel us to new growth and understanding for today and tomorrow.  For allowing it to help bring experiential wisdom to others.

God is in the business of transformation.  And, thankfully, He’ll never go out of business.  Yesterday I recognized where I am today in comparison to where I was a few short years ago.  Until the day I die, I will have broken  parts of me to bring to God for fixing, changing, bettering.  I will never not need His healing, transforming touch.

Today I will be thankful for the work He has done in me and ask Him to use it in whatever way He can to help others.

2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Philippians 1:6 – …being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:12 – Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...

xo, jana
