This past weekend was filled with lots of new faces and personalities. Saturday night we had a bbq with two families from our neighborhood. It was a great time of laughter, food and getting acquainted. They are all both genuine and generous. The real deal. They’ve welcomed us into their beloved neighborhood with open arms and warm hearts. And my heart smiles. These are going to be not only great neighbors, but great friends.
Last night we had another bbq, this time with a man and his family who are considering moving here with the company that Mark works for. They have two little boys so we took a walk downtown and got soft serve ice cream cones at the local “Dairy”. They fell in love with this sweet place and we are hoping that they’ll make Pleasanton home, too!
Opportunities have not waited to knock on our new front door. The welcome mat has been laid out and people are responding. These are the living and breathing answers to my prayers over the past few months – the new people that God has brought into our lives to love in very real and practical ways. The characters who will share the storyline with us in this next chapter. And my heart smiles….
