A few weeks ago I posted a poem called Sophia Smiles, about the tiny two-year-old daughter of a family friend who was close to death’s door.  She had just beaten leukemia, finishing her last round of chemo.  Her immune system gone, she soon contracted a simple cold that almost took her life.

I’m happy to report that after many scares and a solid month in the hospital with her family riding yet another terrifying roller coaster of emotions, Sophia is home!  She is using oxygen only at night now which is beyond miraculous.  This little peanut has defied the odds again and again.  She is living proof that she never left Jesus’ loving hand through any of this.  While those around her who love her dearly were no doubt terrified, she was at peace, safe in the arms of her Father.

I am convinced that Sophia saw, heard and knew things while she was so very sick that could only be revealed to her soul by Jesus Himself.  Things she may never be able to fully express.  I’m certain she got glimpses of eternal things that we can’t even dream of on this side of heaven.

No wonder Sophia Smiles!

Sophia Smiles

Welcome home, precious girl!  Congratulations to her wonderful family!  The lives that will be impacted through your story will go on for generations.  People you know now and people you’ll never meet until you reach the Pearly Gates.  Sophia’s story will most likely be the reason that many of them are there in heaven with you one day…

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
