(My grandma has lived an amazing life. Ninety three years of loving deeply, both God and people. Living life at it’s very fullest with laughter and amazing faith. She gives and lives. She has given an incredible heritage to us, her thankful family. Her body is saying it’s tired now, but her spirit remains strong as she looks forward to meeting the Jesus she has served all of her life, face to face.)
Precious Grandma…
As you wait near heaven’s door
I wonder what’s on your mind?
Ninety-three years of memories?
A journey back through time?
While heaven makes a place for you
Do you think of all you’ve done?
All the hardships you once faced?
All the battles won?
As your welcome party readies
Does a smile take its place
When you picture all your family,
Every thankful, loving face?
I’m sure your thoughts are many
Though your body says it’s through
But there’s one thought I hope you know
As heaven waits for you.
I hope you know the impact
Your precious life has made
Your sacrifice, your endless love
Your faith lived out each day.
I hope you see in every face
And in everything we do
A glimpse of what you’ve taught us
And what we’ve found is true.
I hope you hear in every word
The gratefulness we feel
The heritage you’ve passed to us
A love for God, so real.
I hope our laughter shows you
The joy your life has given.
And that we’ll envy all of those
Who’ll enjoy it up in heaven.
Your witty sense of humor
Has passed through generations
And shows up through your great-grandchildren
Every day, a celebration.
I hope you see the spunk you have
In the lives that we all live
Providing us strength and stubborn will
Always our best to give.
I hope you sense the faith you’ve lived
So faithful and so true
In those of us that you have touched
Faith fresh, alive and new.
And grandma, just a note from me,
You’ve always been the one
That shared a common bond with me
Of feisty, faith and fun.
Not a single day goes by
That I don’t know your love
But soon I’ll have to share you
With your family up above.
Please know that you’re a woman loved
More than words can say
And we promise we will do you proud
‘Til you greet us there One Day.
You’ll beat us to the starting line
That begins at pearly gates
So grandma, run, as we cheer you on
Your eternity awaits…
WE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LOVE YOU, GRANDMA!!!!! XOXOXOXOXOXO
Sniffle…smile…sniffle
Jana, While I know this was meant in tribute to your precious G-ma, I couldn’t help myself and had to say how touched I was by what you wrote to her and about her. She is obviously a jewel!!! I love your perspective about where she is right now and where she’s about to be. Thank you for sharing. Many blessings to you, Jana.~K
