(For all of us who are going through the lovely symptoms of “the change”. I’m told this won’t last forever…:-) )
The gap between my ears I sense
Is caused by more than air
My inability to think
My memory fade’s blank stare
Someone hit the ‘Pause button
A rebel with a cause
And dimmed the lights within my head
Not stopped, just Meno Paused.
I wake so many times at night
My pillow steaming hot
My jammies soaked from hormone sweats
And I’m left with just one thought…
Someone hit the ‘Pause button
A rebel with a cause
Leaves me lying in a puddle
Not stopped. Just Meno Paused.
My eyes seem to be leaking
A faucet uncontrolled
Everything’s so sweet and sad
The tears can’t help but flow.
Someone hit the ‘Pause button
A rebel with a cause
I cry ’til eyes are swollen
Not stopped. Just Meno Paused.
I’m not alone, it’s rampant
Among my mid-life friends
Tearful talks and flashes hot
Leave us wondering, “Will it end?”
Our husbands think we’re crazy
(And sometimes we do, too!)
But it’s all just part of the “Big Change”
It’s what we must go through.
‘Cuz someone hit the ‘Pause button
A rebel with a cause
No respecter of any woman
But we’re not stopped. Just Meno Paused.
Too true and cute!
