Had to prepare a craft to teach at an upcoming women’s craft boutique night in November.  Had to have a finished product by tonight.  This is what I came up with – the advent tree.

Basically, I took branches and placed them in a bucket that had styrofoam in the bottom.  Then I covered the styrofoam with moss.

Then I took little cloth “tags”, put a number (1-25) on the front with a small red bow, and on the back put a little word or phrase to help keep focus during the holiday season (i.e. treasure family, love well, make memories, etc.)  Each of those go in a jar and one is pulled out on December first each day until Christmas and put on the branch “tree”.  Fun for kids, but a good reminder to mom to not stress and remember the important stuff during the holiday.

I embellished a bit with ribbon and twine.  I didn’t have enough “tags” to do all 25, so both the tree and the jar will be fuller when the project is actually complete.
