If I could bottle up how my morning looked, felt, smelled, sounded and tasted, I would. It was nearly perfect.
I woke to pouring rain. I know to my Northwest friends and family, that probably sounds less than idyllic. But we get so little rain here in Colorado, that I savor the chilly wet days when we get them. It reminds me of my childhood and most of my adult years. There’s a comfort in a simple gray sky and downpour that warms my heart.
Well that’s what warmed my HEART. But what warmed my BODY was the fire I had going in my fireplace. All warm and glow-y and flickering. Visually stimulating. Taking the chill off my bones.
To go along with that, I had a delicious cup of hot Kahlua coffee. Its fragrance had me happy from my noes to my toes, The dark flavor cascading over my tongue reminded my brain that it was indeed morning and time to wake up.
I was nestled up in my favorite writing chair, sporting an oversized sweater and leggings – my first for the season. I pulled a blanket around me to enhance the cozy factor.
Candles were lit and were offering their beautiful scents to the scene.
I went through emails and received precious words from wonderful friends.
All too soon, it was over. The day was going on without me and it was time to get things done. But for what seemed like just a few short moments, I was in my very happy place. A place where all the smells and sounds, the feels and the tastes and the sights all come together. So simple. So perfect.
Only wish you could have been here to share it with me 🙂 Hope your morning was just as wonderful…
