Be still my restless, wandering heart
Your hope is in your God
Though shadows change like shifting sand
Your God, He changes not.
My eyes can’t see tomorrow
But still I want to run
into the vast unseen unknown
Where adventure’s not begun.
My itchy feet and eager hands
Feel bound and tied in knots
They long to dance and scribble
Outside this too small box.
Be still my restless, wandering heart
Your God is eager, too
To splash with brand new colors
On a world in need of hue.
That unsettled feeling in me
Is the stirring of my soul
The place where all good things begin
Where parts become a whole.
What may look like deep frustration
Is holy discontent
My heart and soul know there is more
But my eyes can’t see it yet.
This rub I feel, this constant nag
This longing undefined
Are all the little telltale signs
That heaven’s on my mind.
I was never made for here
It’s just a stop along the way
To an endless, perfect Paradise
Where restless goes away…
A friend of mine recommended your blog (don’t even remember who now) but you are a truly incredible writer… You have great insight and speak deeply even about ordinary topics. Thank you for sharing your gift! Write a book!
Oh, thank you so much! I actually DID write a book this past year! It’s called HANDled and is available on amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com. Are you a writer as well? Thanks so much for reading!
