Come and sit here next to me, quiet by the tree
Lit with lights that sparkle on its branches, magically
Hear the fire crackle, its flames so mesmerizing
Breathe in the scent of candles, each moment memorizing
The sights and smells of Christmas warm us up inside
So for just a moment, let’s from the hustle hide
Come and reminisce with me about Novembers past
Filled with moments just like this, times we wish could last
Where dreams are mixed with love and hope, warm and rich and bright
Just like the fire before us now, a warm and welcome sight
Christmas music plays so sweet, we want to sing along
Reminding us of childhood days with every sleigh bell song
Cookies in the oven, their aroma fills the air
Stockings on the mantle, hung with loving care
Blankets snug around us, cocoa in our mugs
Smiling, laughing, talking like cozy heartfelt hugs
And yes, there’s still so much to do, so little time for this
But please come join me by the tree for just a moment’s bliss….
A beautiful poem full of meaning….keep up the good work. Have you gone to your mailbox to pick up “my life” yet? I sure don’t want to get lost in the Rockies or the Grand Canyon or even in your town. Love you Grandma
Mark got the mail a couple days ago, and didn’t see it yet, but I will go and look again today. Grandma, I’m so horrible about remembering to get the mail! I cannot wait to read it!!!!! Thank you so much for going to the time and trouble to do this for me. I will treasure it forever…xoxo
I mailed the letter over a week ago so keep looking. Grandma
Okay, I will. I hope it didn’t get stuck inside of some junk mail that got thrown out!
Just got it, Grandma! I am going to read it when I crawl in bed tonight 🙂 Thank you, so so much! xoxo
