This is one of my favorite pies in the world! A great combination of sweet and tart, gooey and crunchy. Perfect for cool fall days…And what will be served at the dinner we are hosting tonight…Yum!
Ingredients for Pie”
1 pie shell (homemade or store bought)
1/2 cup sugar
3 Tbsp. flour
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
6 apples (I use 3 granny smith and 3 fuji)
Peel and core and slice apples. (Do you have one of those awesome gadgets that does it all at once? I can’t imagine making apple pies without one!)
Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Sprinkle over apple slices and mix. Pour into prepared pie crust.
Crumb Topping:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup butter
Combine above ingredients and sprinkle over apple mixture. Put foil around edges. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes. Take foil off and back for another 25 minutes. Remove from oven and drizzle with caramel. Serve with vanilla ice cream and amaze your world!
Sounds yummy.
