Exodus 15:2 – The LORD is my STRENGTH and my SONG; he has become my SALVATION.
I need verbal cues to remember things. Similar sounds that help me connect and retain things I’ve read. So I was really excited when I saw this verse again this morning. (Although, I’m pretty sure that Moses didn’t do that on purpose since He spoke Hebrew.)
I want to take this verse with me today. I’m feeling a little lackluster today – headache, tired, low energy. I am desperately drinking a strong cup of coffee this morning to revive me. But, I can hang on to the fact that:
God is my STRENGTH – That gives me HOPE. I don’t have to rely on my own resources to do what I need to do today. He will give me everything I need to accomplish what He’s laid out for me in this day. He is the “muscle” that I so desperately need to do life well.
God is my SONG – That gives me JOY. When I don’t have the energy or ability to come up with a “song”, when life seems to crowd out my smile, Jesus is my never-ending song and dance. The song-writer, choreographer.
God is my SALVATION – He is my LIFE. He is the source of all that I am, that I experience, that I say and do. He resuscitates me, breathing life back into me.
Today, though I feel less than capable of doing, thinking or saying anything helpful or meaningful, I can rest in the fact that He is my STRENGTH, my SONG, my SALVATION. He gives me HOPE, JOY and LIFE. And I think that those three in combination will do much more for me today than just this cup of coffee that I am gulping down. S to the third power – it packs a punch….
I really needed to hear that today. Thank you!
