I made these cookies for the church staff meeting yesterday.  A “Mrs. Fields” recipe that I changed and manipulated a bit.  I think maybe I outdid myself this time 🙂  Yeah.  Really, really good!  My friend Dave dubbed them “Dream” cookies….(These are dedicated to you, Isaiah, who was always my cookie making buddy in AZ and who turned six yesterday!  Happy birthday and I love you, buddy!)
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups oatmeal (ground up in blender or food processor)
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups butterscotch chips (ground up in blender or food processor
Combine butter, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla.  Add dry ingredients – flour, ground oatmeal, graham cracker crumbs, salt, baking powder, baking soda.  Stir in semi-sweet chocolate chips and ground up butterscotch chips.  Mix well and drop by tablespoonfuls on prepared cookie sheet.  Bake at 375 for 10-11 minutes.  Quite possibly one of the best cookies you have ever tasted!!!  So chewy and delicious.  And smells like…..A DREAM!!!
