Yesterday I talked with two people who are wrestling with anxious thoughts.  I can so relate to this.  Anxiety is my weak spot all too often.  And for that I am thankful on days like yesterday because it allows me to understand when others suffer from worry’s painful grip.

My prayer is for them this morning as they start a new day….

Jesus,

I need your help.  My friends need your help.  Anxiety is wrapped around their hearts.  It’s choking them.  It’s affecting their minds and their bodies.  It permeates all other thoughts and actions.  They can’t seem to wrestle from the choke hold.  Please loosen the grip of this relentless enemy…

And as anxiety loses its hold, replace it with Your hand  cupping their weary hearts.  May they sense the comfort of Your fingers around their souls, calming and soothing.  Please let them know that You are right there and are not only holding them, but You are also at work on the things that they can’t see yet.  The things that are unknown to them, but fully known to You.

Jesus, You love my friends even more than I do.  It seems impossible, but it’s true.  And though I want to rush in and help them and make their hearts “all better”, the truth is, I can’t.  Thank you that You can.  And You will.  Help me to fully trust that promise….

Give them a great day, with a special surprise that only You could provide.  Something personal and unique, just for them….

Philippians 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...

xo, jana
