You know what I love?  I love it when people figure out what their inborn passion is – what they’re really good at and excited about – and find a place to use it and fully embrace its beauty.  It’s like they tap into a part of themselves that they are discovering for the first time and suddenly they feel a sense of fulfillment and purpose.  They have found their niche and know that they are doing exactly what they were made to do.  There is no other feeling like that in the world.

Our gifts and abilities. Our talents and specific personalities.  They are God given and were in us from before we were born.  They were part of the creative masterpiece that God’s hands worked on from the time we were conceived.  When He “created my inmost being” (Psalm 139:13).  Those things that drive and inspire us are part of who we are at our core.  The abilities and talents that we possess were designed specifically for us and our particular personalities.

And when we begin to discover those parts of us that make us unique, there is an overwhelming feeling of “this is what I was meant to do.”

But were these things created for just our own sense of enjoyment and fulfillment or is there something bigger than ourselves that God had in mind?

I was reading in 2 Peter  chapter 4 this morning.  “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.  If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ…”

Isn’t it awesome that the things that God so purposefully created in us are meant to be used for something more than our own pleasure?  We get to be a part of “serving others” and “administering God’s grace” to them.  And the beautiful outcome of using our gifts and our passions for the benefit of others results in God getting the credit.  There is absolutely nothing more precious or deep or meaningful than knowing that you are working alongside your Creator and the Lover of your soul to make a difference in people’s lives.  And to experience His pleasure, His smile on your life, as you live out the things that He has put in your heart and soul to do.

You have amazing gifts and abilities.  You have passions that run deep and that have been divinely placed in your soul.  Discover it all.  Live it. Do your thing. Share it with the One who put it there.  And watch what God does.  Nothing short of incredible….

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
