“I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery. All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery” Colossians 2:2-3 (The Message)
“He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure.” Isaiah 33:6
“Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! ” Romans 11:33
Who doesn’t love a good mystery? The intrigue, the twists and turns. The who-done-its. The digging for answers. The desire to figure it out, solve the puzzle.
Or how about a treasure hunt? My personal favorite. Looking for things that are hidden and not always obvious. Maybe in obscure or unlikely places. Searching for that one thing that satisfies you in the strangest, most profound way.
Richness. Not the monetary kind, but the deep, delicious, meaningful kind. A rich conversation. Rich colors and flavors. Rich relationships and experiences. Immense and affecting.
Mystery. Treasure. Riches. Intrigue. All ours to experience and enjoy. To dig and to delve into. Unending, priceless goodies for our hearts and souls. The answers to our questions. The meaning for our souls. The antidote to every longing. Jesus. All of who He is and all that He has to offer. Our fathomless resource of treasure and riches wrapped in the mystery of His magnificent love.
May we never stop discovering. May we never tire of digging. May each thing we find be delectable. Our supply is endless. May our desire be the same….
