Yesterday it was 78 degrees in Parker, Colorado.  Last night we had the craziest snow storm ever and today it is cold and snowing.

So, after a weekend full of singing, it seemed completely appropriate to put my pajamas on and crawl up on my bed with my blanket.  And yes, it’s only three in the afternoon.  But it’s ten o’clock somewhere, right?

Last week was crazy.  Good.  Really, really good.  But crazy.  People, projects, places to be.  I loved every minute of it.  And it took every little bit of me and my strength to do it.  I wasn’t even sure I could finish it all in one piece. It completely tapped me out. And I wondered to myself, “If my business continues to grow, if opportunities with people continue to pop up, how will I keep up?  How can I be and do enough?”  Good thing I have another source of strength and ability that goes way beyond my own…

Aren’t there times in our lives when we feel like we are “tapped out”?  Like we don’t have enough to give, whether it’s time, energy, ability or resources?  And when that happens, the tendency is to either give up or panic.  To say, “I can’t” or  “It’s no use.”  Even for the things that we need to do or feel that God has asked us to do.  Even for the things we normally feel passionate about.  Fear tends to creep in when we feel “less than” for the tasks at hand.

God is well aware of our predicament.  He knows that we are only human with limited resources.  And here’s the great part.  He offers us so much more.  He offers Himself.

Ephesians 3:20 tells us that He “…is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us…”

Wow!  Break this verse down and it’s just amazing!

“immeasurably more” – im-measurably – not measurable.  beyond being able to be measured.  way more.

“more than all we ask or imagine” – more than what we could even be able to come up with in our own brains.  we haven’t even thought to ask for it, let alone imagine it.

“according to His power” – these things He can do come from not just His ability to think of them, but his power and ability to make them happen.

“that is at work within us” – that power – the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, is at work  inside of us.  Wow!  When we are tapped out, He allows us to tap in…Nice!

This takes things to a whole new level, in what we do and how we think.  I can take my days to him and all that they entail – to do’s, difficulties, people – and know that He can take any situation that I offer to Him and do way beyond what I could do.  Way beyond what I could dream of.  He will give the strength I need to endure.  He will give the ability I need to perform.  He will give the creativity I need to dream and create.  The list goes on and on.  What I lack, He possesses and provides in excess.  And that is exactly when He gets ALL the credit.

My pajamas are striped.  My blanket is brown.  And at 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon, my heart is at rest knowing that when I am not enough, He is always more than enough.

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
