Last night was the end of a very long and very good day.  Lots of people, lots of fun.  So when I got into bed just before ten, I was ready to saw logs.

I had just about entered that wonderful place between consciousness and dreamland when my cell phone rang.  It wasn’t my normal ring.  It was the ring that meant that someone whose number is not in my phone is calling.  I waited for them to leave a message.  They didn’t.  So coming out of my foggy state and started by the call, I began to worry why someone I didn’t know would be calling me at ten p.m.  It was an Arizona number, so immediately my thoughts went to my two grown girls who still live there…dread began to step in….

With no message coming in to relieve my fears, I immediately called the number back.  Ring one.  Two.  Three.  Four….Finally a woman who did not sound like she was in her right mind answered the phone.  I said, “I’m Jana.  You called me.  Who is this?”  She, in slurred speech, told me she had dialed the wrong number and apologized.  No problem.  We’ve all done that. I got back in bed and quickly fell asleep.

But in the course of the next three hours, that same dreadful ring happened two more times.  Same number.  In a coma type stupor, I couldn’t get to the phone in time to tell her to stop calling.  The sad thing is that it took two more times before I thought to turn my phone off and actually get a good night’s rest.

So I’m a little blurry and foggy this morning.  I would love to be able to come up with some cute and clever way to describe the sleepless, interrupted night, but I am way too tired to think that hard… 🙂 In other words, this story has little to no purpose.  But I hope that your night’s sleep was better than mine and that you got to actually finish your dreams and wake up refreshed with a smile on your face.  I’m about ready for a nap….

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...

xo, jana
