My new philosophy –
When you move to a new town and no one there knows when your birthday is yet and your husband is out of town all week, you have two choices. Feel lonely and forgotten on your birthday and sit around and mope or do something about it. I decided to do something about it. I declared it.
My friend Becky and I were driving along last week and I just announced to her that my birthday would be the following week and that since no one knew that, I was just going to throw a little party myself. Yes, it’s true. In my old age, I have lost all pride. She told me that there was an ordinance in Parker that you cannot throw yourself a party ( :-)) and that she would be the one to throw a party for me. So, without giving me all the details, she invited a bunch of friends to meet for dinner last night. Sweet girl! There were many that couldn’t come because they were either out of town or had prior engagements. And I missed you much!!!! But the six of us that could be there had a wonderful time. It was great to have a chance to tell all of them at one time what a blessing they are in my life and that I see them as a direct gift from God. These women are amazing… every single day….
Thanks, all of you, for taking time out of your busy schedules to come. I love you!!!!
I think I might start subscribing to your philosophy! Sounds like you had a wonderful time.
how was your birthday, girl?
