Today Blake and four other kids and me and two other moms when to visit DU – University of Denver.  I know.  The letters are turned around.  I don’t know why.  And it doesn’t really matter.  It costs $50,000 per year to go there.  Not gonna happen.

But we had a fun time just getting the tour, hearing some profs speak and getting a free lunch out of the deal.  It was good for the kids to be on a college campus and get the feel of dorms, the activities, the clubs available and what it will be like to be part of something bigger than yourself.  The opportunity for new relationships, new learning, new independence.  It’s exciting!  And I had to swallow the lump in my throat as I thought about it as reality today.  I am so gonna miss this kid.  Seriously.  I have no idea how I’m going to do it…My last one.  My baby.  My only son here on earth. Ugh….

Here is a pic of the kids that went today – Jordan, Blake, Steele, Danielle and Kylie.  The greatest part of the day for me was watching and listening to them interact, not only with each other, but with us as parents.  Great kids.  Great moms.  Great fun. 🙂

Our soon-to-be-college-bound babies...

Oh, and did you notice?  The leaves just started falling off the trees!  My first real fall in eight years!!!  Whoopee!!!!  My favorite time of year since I was a little girl.  And here in Colorado, it’s finally here.  Cold weather and all!

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
