Janay is on a plane to Cambodia right now after spending the night in Chicago by herself. My little adventurer! Mark got her a room at the Hilton adjacent to the airport for comfort and safety, obviously, for which she was very thankful. Way to go, Dad!
She called me from the airport this morning ready to catch her next flight. She met up with her team of seven and sounded really happy. Please pray for her as she goes into very unknown and dark territory. Pray for God’s very real protection and presence the entire time. And pray that she will somehow be able to reach these young women and girls who have been so abused. With prior trips and her vocation, I really believe that God has equipped her for this task, but there is probably no real preparation for something like this.
My mommy heart has multiple emotions, but strangely enough, fear is NOT one of them. God has called her to missions and foreign lands all her life and her heart will always be pulled in that direction. I can’t stand in the way of her heart and what it was made to do. And God supplies this mommy’s peace. She is His daughter before she is mine and walks with her each day whether she is on homeland ground or not. And so I will trust.
At 25 years old, she has now been on every continent except Antarctica…not bad….
Looking forward to the stories that she will come back with of the things that God is going to do…and I’d just love it if you’d pray with me….
Here is a pic to give you a visual of Janay (and all my other kids taken last spring). Thanks for remembering my girl….
