I love playing the role of “Susie Homemaker”. I love to clean and decorate and make our home a warm and inviting place. Girlie stuff.
But this week “Susie” went to the garage. The tomboy in me reared its head. I decided when we moved in that I would love for once in our lives to have an organized and clean garage. A garage where you could actually easily find anything you were looking for. I’ve been doing lots of projects lately, so have been collecting and using different tools. And I’m diggin’ it!!!!
While Mark was gone this week, I frequented Home Depot many times. I bought three sets of shelves that I put together and organized things in bins on those. Then I got a “track” system that I attached to the garage wall that various organizing components hang from to hold cords and tools and edgers, and anything else that dwells in the garage. I had to learn a few new things along the way. I had to purchase a stud finder. (I know….so many jokes could be made right now about that one :-)) Anyway, I had to find studs 🙂 and drill steel and measure. And in the stuffy garage, I was, literally, a hot mess. But I was a happy sweaty mess when I saw how great the garage turned out with everything in its place ready to be used at our convenience.
Shhhhhh! Mark doesn’t have a clue what I did…I wanted to surprise him. Hopefully, he’ll be as excited as I was, and maybe even a little more so, since he didn’t have to do it!
So little “Susie Handyman” can add a few more tools and one more experience to her tool belt. And dang, it feels good!!!!
