Sometimes sadness hangs its hat
Upon my happy head
Sometimes when I’m supposed to smile
I want to cry instead
Sometimes lonely calls me names
And makes me feel left out
Sometimes even in a crowd
Alone pushes me about
Sometimes fear sticks out it’s tongue
And makes great fun of me
Sometimes when I am just myself
Someone else I’d rather be
Sometimes doubt puts a weight
Around my oft light heart
Sometimes I want tod just give up
And never push “restart”
Sometimes worry puts its frown
Upon my smiling face
Sometimes it makes my tummy hurt
Right in the deepest place
But all those things that run at me
Don’t even stand a chance
When Jesus takes my little hand
And asks me for this dance
Sadness doesn’t know the tune
Lonely has two left feet
Worry has no rhythm
And fear can’t keep a beat
So Jesus ask me for this dance
Before they fill my card
Bring back the light, the smile, the joy
Into my little heart
I’ll dance with you safe in your arms
The smile back on my face
Cuz you will always have last dance
With every song that plays…
