Okay, well I don’t really live IN Eden, but I do live ON Eden right now.  Eden Drive to be exact.  It’s only five minutes from where we used to live, but it feels like a whole different world.  Our little Garden of Eden.

To start, the neighborhood is made up of patio homes – small homes set up in duplex format that have their own little patio yard in the back.  The common areas are green and grassy (much to Jessie’s joy) and there are full grown trees.  It is very well maintained and manicured.  People are extremely friendly.  They wave and call out to you and stop to actually have a conversation with you.  So, so refreshing.  All the dogs in the area get together at 4:00 pm to have a play date in the common park area.  And we are probably the youngest people living here.  It seems to be mostly retired people.  And that is probably the reason for the friendliness and laid back attitude.  These people don’t have a million things to do.  They aren’t too busy to say hello and ask about your day.  They aren’t trying to impress anyone with what they do or how much money they have.  And maybe that’s why this really does feel a little like Eden.  A little bit of paradise smack dab in the middle of the hustle and bustle.  A retreat from the craziness.  A friendly place of restfulness.

Thanks, God, for this funny little chapter in our lives.  A few weeks to rest and reflect in a place that is conducive to doing so.  Just another small detail of your great provision in this whole move.  Will you ever cease to amaze me?  I don’t think so…

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...

xo, jana
