Don’t you love it when you get to see your kids be what they were meant to be and do what they were meant do? I have had the privilege of getting those glimpses with each of my kids at various times. Today I got to see it with Abby. She is taking care of and living with four kids for four days, ages 2 to 10. Paul is helping her during the day, as they both took a couple of days off of work to do this. They make a great team, working with the kids. They both love them dearly and have a way with them that is amazing to watch.
I met them for lunch at the park and then Abby brought them over to swim tonight. She had a huge smile on her face and we shared lots of laughs as we watched the kids swim. It was a lot to handle, but she was truly enjoying it. And she did it was such confidence, with the kids really listening and responding. I’ve seen her babysitting for years and she has always been great at it, but this time was different. This time there was a maturity and a seeming understanding on her part of this scenario as a picture of her future. She was born to work with little kids. She was born to be a mom. ( She did mention that she has a whole new respect for motherhood :-))
So proud of you, Abby Joy. Your joy was evident today, even in the middle of the craziness. Which only goes to show that you are gonna be an awesome mommy one day. Thanks for sharing your day with me 🙂 Love you!!!!
