Today I met Janay and Court and Court’s mom for lunch. I had never met her before. She was awesome! We had a wonderful hour and a half together, talking and laughing like old friends. As I was driving home, it hit me how much I enjoy all the parents of my daughters’ boyfriends. And I smiled out loud. I know that this is a huge blessing and probably doesn’t always happen, but it makes me very thankful. Saturday night we will all get together for one last big family dinner with boyfriends and their parents before the moving truck comes. A very strange thought that we will no longer be able to do this two weeks from now. And my smile fades slightly with that thought. But the smile returns when I realize this fact also means that there will be wonderful families here loving my two girls who will not be making the Colorado move with us. God has so prepared every step in this process down to providing love and support for Janay and Brittany in our absence. And that makes the sweet outweigh the bitter.
Tonight in a quiet and empty house, I reflect on how God has so blessed our family with love and laughter and is growing our family and exponentially increasing that love and laughter with the addition of new friends and loved ones. How can I say thank you enough????
