We did it! We had a hugely successful garage sale today. Terra totally made bank. And I did pretty good, too, for nearly giving away some old loved-on stuff. We weren’t so sure that this was going to be the case since the homeowners association tyrant that drives around the neighborhood at six a.m. took down all our signs and we had to do it purely by people driving by and seeing the sale. (We did, however, put a sign on a car at one corner. Apparently they can’t take down a sign that is on personal property, like your car.)
Was it worth the hours of work and sweat? Absolutely. Money aside, I got to spend an evening and a day with friends, meet a few strangers, work a few deals, get rid of a bunch of stuff and have a cleaner garage in the process. Feels great. Mark worked hard on the garage while I was gone, and the painter worked some touch-up magic and painted my front door a beautiful shade of a rich REDDISH BROWN. Yummy! Looks great and I think we are ready for pictures and for someone to come knocking on our door to say, “I have to have this house!”
So I yawn and I sigh and I look forward to a little nap now, before I think of what it is I need to do next 🙂
